Reserves Information
We have 40 PNRs in and around Radnorshire covering around
500 acres.
Heights range from 180 to 450 meters above sea level.
Members have been managing their land for anything up to
30 years. Many, however, are relative novices.
Approximately half our members have woodland. Other habitat
types include, ponds, streams, unimproved permanent pasture and traditional
hay meadows. Some of us own land which is included in a Site of Special
Scientific Interest.
The majority of our members let out grazing to a neighbouring
farmer. Some do have their own grazing animals including local rare breed
sheep and traditional cattle.
Species benefiting from our Management include barn owls,
hares, dormice, great crested newts, otters, and lampreys. Flora include
smooth brome, common spotted orchids, harebells, pignut, betony and sneezewort.
